Essay Submission
We hosted Laws of Life Essay Submission Training sessions in late November and early December. The 30-minute session provided the latest info on the essay submission process, including the benefits of the GoogleForms Student Entry Release Form (SERF), the Submittable Essay Submission process, and the Submittable School Tally Form. A video recording of the session is available to view on your own time.
To ensure complete and uniform essay submission, we ask that you or members of your ELA team submit the essays into Submittable. Students should not complete their own submissions. If your fellow teachers will also be uploading essays, please have your entire team use one log-in.

The School Tally Form needs to be completed before submitted essays will be considered for student awards. This may be done before or after the student entries have been submitted. You may find it helpful to use the printable School Tally Form to track essay numbers before completing the online form.
The number of school level student awards is dependent upon the total number of essays written in the school. Refer to the Essay Contest Manual for more details. Complete the School Tally Form below to report the number of essays written school-wide and the number of essays submitted to the contest from each grade level.
The total number of essays written by students in the school is a key factor in determining student awards, teacher honoraria and continued success of the contest.
Submit a maximum of 12 essays per grade. If fewer than 3 essays are submitted for a grade level, an individual grade level winner will not be selected, nor will the essays be considered for a school winner.
Please verify that the number of essays submitted is accurate on the Tally Form. If you find an error after submitting the form you have two options to correct: 1) withdraw the form from your submission list and complete a new Tally Form. 2) request access to edit by opening the submission (form) and clicking the Edit icon; edit instructions will be emailed to you.
